IBC water totes for drinking water, rainwater and farms
For drinking water, use a brand-new tote or a food-grade tote that has only held food products. For rainwater collection, gardening and livestock water, a reconditioned tote is the lower-cost choice; our rainwater gardening tote comes with a 3/4 in garden hose adapter. Compare all rain barrels and rainwater totes. Keep totes out of direct sunlight or use an IBC tote cover to slow algae growth.

What is an IBC tote?
An IBC (intermediate bulk container) tote is a plastic tank inside a galvanized steel cage, mounted on a pallet so you can move it with a forklift or pallet jack. The common size holds 1000 L (275 US gallons).
What is the difference between rebottled and reconditioned totes?
A rebottled tote has a brand-new plastic bottle in a cleaned used cage. A reconditioned tote keeps its original bottle, which is emptied, washed in a 3-stage process and dried, then fitted with a new lid and drain cap.
Can I store drinking water in an IBC tote?
Yes, if the tote is new or food-grade and has never held chemicals. Check the product description for previous contents before you buy.
How much does a 1000 L tote weigh?
About 135 lb (61 kg) empty and about 2,430 lb (1,102 kg) full of water, so place it on a flat, solid base.
